destination Heaven or Hell : what is your destination?

Posted: March 8, 2012 in Uncategorized

I listened to a message by Dr. Charles Stanley of In Touch Ministry and his message was staying on track and I am using the same scriptures he used in his sermon and putting my own thoughts to it so this is credited to Dr. Charles Stanley.

Let’s say we are riding our bikes to Sturgis, South Dakota for the annual bike week the biggest in the country aside from Daytona Bike Week and we see a place that looks kind of cool so we stop there rather than pas it on by and end up not making it to Sturgis for one reason or another wouldn’t that be a shame to not make it to a place where we may have brought multiple people to Christ because we wanted to have fun? Well the same goes for us in our walk with God we get side tracked or come short of our destination and we often times pay dearly for doing so . We live with the regret that I could have or I should have and it bothers us to no end, here is how to keep our bikes heading down the road that God wants us to and remaining  on course with the exception of fuel stops ( weekly church)

1) make daily prayer and meditation a priority, time with God is more important than anything else we may have planned. Psalm 1:1-3 says, blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stand in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful,2)but his delight is in the law of the Lord and in the law doth he meditate day and night.3)and he shall be like a tree, planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season, His leaf also shall not wither, and what so ever he doeth shall prosper. this is saying to meditate day and night on the Holy scriptures and listen to what God wants for you to do and you should do this day and night.

we should also obey God and leave what ever consequences come our way to him and this maybe easier said than done but if the bible tells us to do this in Romans 8:29 , Which says, for whom he did foreknow he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his son, that he might be the first born among many brethren. We as children of God were not predetined to go to Hell for which he did not make for us but for that of lucifer and his co-horts  we were predestine to be conformed into the image of Christ and not to the image of our government not led like sheeple by an ungodly leadership.

We must have full trust in God with all our hearts knowing beyond the shadow of a doubt that he has our back in proverbs 3:5 it states, trust in the lord with all thine heart and lean not into thine own understanding, so we are to lean towards understanding God not guessing so if there is question ask and it will be answered maybe not in our time but in God’s time never the less he will answer. this brings me to another thing, WAIT.

Waiting is hard it requires patience and I have always said if I wanted patience I would have been a doctor but patience allows us to learn stamina and with out stamina we are out of gas.Psalm 27:14 says , wait on the Lord be of good courage and he shall strengthen thine heart:wait I say on the Lord.

we were also given the promise of the Holy Spirit in John 14:16-18 it says, and I will pray upon the Father and he shall give you another comforter that he may abide with you forever,17)Even the spirit of truth whom the world can not receive because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him, but ye know him for he dwelleth with you and shall be in you,18)I will not leave you comfortless:I will come to you. this was Jesus talking to the disciples prior to his death as their hearts were troubled.

in paul’s letter to the Romans he wrote in verses 38-39, for I am persuaded that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come.39)nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus. So as children of God he loves us unconditionally and when we need to be punished he does it out of love not to be mean.  And since my destination is Heaven I know in psalm 103:19 he says,The Lord hath prepared his throne in the Heavens and his kingdom ruleth over all. You see in this last scripture as log as we keep our eyes on God the father along the highways and byways fulfilling the great commission God loves us, and will show us the way and will help us obey his every command as we should do this out of love for the Father and not because we may get some reward, the best reward is a soul won over to the kingdom of Heaven.

until next time as always keep the rubber side down and may God richly bless you
