new lesson learned

As I have said I am going to seminary school and I am learning a lot , during  a couple lessons i learned things which i will share with you and hope you learn something.

I am in the book of Nehemiah and here are somethings i have learned.

1) the life and ministry principle is this, with opportunity comes opposition, faith without works is dead. Now what does this tell us?  It is saying that with any given opportunity to share the gospel satan will try and oppose us by knocking us down and ruining our self confidence  and in some cases it will shut a new christian down completely to where they won’t even share their own testimony. So in turn their faith is good but keeping it to yourself is not because the bible clearly states, faith without works is dead if we do not kick satan’s butt by going and doing no matter what the consequences he wins and we as believers who are supposed to be the body  fail to do what we are commissioned to do per Mathew 28:19-20 which says go ye therefore and teach all nations, baptising them in the name of the father and of the son and of the holy spirit, teaching them to bserve  all things what so ever i have commanded, you, and lo, I am with you always even unto the end of the world.

Now you may ask what does this have to do with the above mentioned? Well let me tell you…….oh wait I am too scared of rejection, you may reject me and then oh dear my ego will be crushed. This is the typical response of most christians now a days, however your response should be this I will, I am going and tell me where I need to go no matter what. You see when Jesus commanded the disciples to do this they went, and it is supposed to still be going on today. The lord knows we will face opposition and it is the pastor of the church to help equip us to continue this command, it doesn’t say go preach the gospel, preach simply means to proclaim. We are to TEACH all that which he commanded, therefore making just a convert doesn’t do it, you must make disciples out of everyone you come in contact with, if you hand them a cd and tell them to listen to it, follow up with them and ask how they like it, or do they have questions and take the time to write the question(s) down and if you don’t  know the answer right away research it and make sure you give them the correct answer. If we fail to do this then our faith is dead in the water dude. We can break the ice by giving our testimony, or a simple if you were to die today do you know if you would go to heaven or hell? That usually perks their ears. At this point you can plant the seed of the gospel and follow up therefore now you are doing works through the faith that God will lead you in the right path. and this my friends is a good lesson learned. Will there be opposition? the answer is YES. Why because it is the devil’s job and unfortunately I have to give credit where credit is due and say he is very good at this.

In the book of Nehemiah, he is sent by the king to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem in which he is faced with oppositions many of us face today. So read the book of Nehemiah and see for yourself what lessons it will teach you. until next time as always keep the rubber side down and may God pour out the blessings of heaven upon you as he did in exodus when he let manna rain down from the heavens.
